I finally sent and got this quilt top back. Here it is:

I sent it to Shirley and I do think she did a MARVELOUS job. I think their prices are Great too.
Maybe some day I will brave free motion quilting but for now when I want a meandering done on a quilt I will definately be sending it to Shirley at Cross Country Quilting.

So, now all I have to do is add the binding and wash it and it will be ready to go!!!

I am also preparing my mom's Candy Bar Road Quilt to be sent to Cross Country Quilting. I was going to stitch in the ditch or even do a diaganol quilting but I just really think it would look much better with meandering.

Sometimes, Somedays I just like to make little creative things. Things that are almost an instant gratification. So, I made these items. Which are also for sale Here. I LOVE how the beaded pacifier clips turned out. They are so cute!!

Here are a few things I recently made. I have made tons of taggie blankets before. The construction set is a "new" thing for me. Aren't they cute?? Makes me wish I had a baby boy...... :-) I will be selling these things Here .

Madagascar Quilt

My daughter is the BIGGEST Madagascar fan. She hasn't ever gotten really "in to" anything until she saw this movie. I bet you she has watched it at least 2 times a day since she discovered this movie. So, me being the wonderful Mommy that I am (lol) I decided to make her a Madagascar Quilt. So I layed it out and measured lines with tape over and over and over.....

I also sewed each line after it was measured. Over and over and over.........

And the finished quilt is..........................Crooked.........lmao What the hell??Well, the good part is that my daughter is only 3.5 years old so she doesn't know the difference between straight and crooked right now..... She LOVES it and that is the part that matters :-)

Baby Doll Quilt

I made this baby doll quilt to match my daughter's quilt I made her. I just used the left over blocks from her quilt. She LOVES it! The thing is, she won't let her babies use it. She covers her pillow with it at night night time....lol

Wanted: One Yard Measurements of Fabric

I am in need of one yard measurements of fabric. I need 100% cotton, flannelette, or cotton knits. I am in the process of making things for charities. I thought perhaps if you have any of these fabrics laying around unwanted I will be very very happy to take them.

I also will take any unused receiving blankets.I am willing to pay the shipping.

Mom's Candy Bar Road Quilt Top

I am making this quilt for my mom. It is The Candy Bar Road Pattern. I used fabric from Moda's Miss Jump's Scrap Bag. These colors are so her. I know this because they are so me as well......
My mom and I are sometimes almost ridiculously a lot alike :-)

I am new to the quilting world. I still have a ton to learn and I do not recommend anybody ask my advice on how to do something.....lol I have made my share of rag quilts but NOW I have decided to graduate from them on to the "real deal". I hope one day to teach myself how to free motion quilt. I LOVE the look of stippling and maybe one day me and my little Singer 1120 can do it. I would also like to brave hand quilting one of these days.
I also like to sew little projects from time to time. I have made my daughter several pair of lounge pants, taggies and other small things. My next project of things to make for her is an apron.
I do not by any means even think of myself as a somewhat skilled sewer/quilter. I just do what I like and I like what I do. That's all that really matters anyway.

Yellow Brick Road in Reproduction fabrics

This quilt was done in Reproduction Fabric in the Yellow Brick Road Pattern by Atkinson Designs. I made this one for my daughter. The borders were not from the design. They had just one border but I though I needed a solid in there to kind of break up the prints.
This isn't the "finished product". I quilted it "stitch in the ditch" and added a purple binding. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to teach myself free motion quilting ( I hope).

Chick in the Wild Quilt Top

A few years ago my mom was in a "Big Brohter Big Sister Program". Where she is from they call it "Companions for Kids". My mom got a little companion named Sarah. We met her when she was 11. She had/has a very bad home life. Her mom was not mentally right at all. Sarah's mom had a baby when Sarah was about 12 or so. Sarah found herself pretty much raising her baby sister. It was just an awful life for a young girl to have.Now at just a little over Sixteen Years Old, Sarah has had her own baby. Sarah has really no support or help from anybody. She has left her mothers home and is living with a friend. However, not one person in the household has a job. Sarah, being only 16, has plans to go back to school. I hope she does!! I really hope she amounts to more than what her mother was for her. Sarah seems to be a good mom, but she is young. To young to have to give up the rest of her life. Having a baby is hard. It's even harder when you are still a child yourself.So, I just pray Sarah can give that baby her all.I have made this quilt top for Sarah's baby, Mia. I hope to have it finished in the next week or so for her :-)I realize the striped block are a little off....... Me and straight lines don't mix well...........
I am still trying to decide how I would like to finsih it. I think a green binding would work well but I am still undecided about the backing. I guess it may be time to go browse the fabric store.
